Electronic Noticeboards

The main electronic noticeboard / digital signage system is controlled from your web browser via our digital signage web server. This means you don't have to install any software on the PCs you want to control it from.

The control system offers all the control you need including WYSIWYG page creation facilities that allow you to be creative with your message pages. Full page templating is available for when you just want to slot a message into a pre-created page.

The browser connects to a master digital signage PC running our web server in the same way that you would connect to any other website. If there are multiple digital signage players these are simply configured with the web address of the master unit and they will automatically synchronize their local page store to that of the master unit.

Main Noticeboard Control
To display a page on your electronic noticeboard screens it is simply a matter of selecting it from the Available Pages list and then clicking a big green arrow to add the page to the list associated with a noticeboard screen (or zone within a screen). A 'Seconds' drop down defines how long a page will be displayed for before the next page is shown. You can configure the controller to give your screens (and their zones) easy to remember names such as 'Reception' to help you select the right screen.

WYSIWYG Page Editor.
Allows you create message pages any way you like by giving you full control of the page layout. WYSIWYG editing offers you full dragging around and resizing of text, pictures, video and SWF Flash objects.

Pages can also be saved as templates so you don't have to make new pages from scratch each time making it easier to obtain the same look and style to your pages.

An accordian control on the left of the editor makes it simple to access all your pages, pictures and backgrounds etc, while a thumbnail view under the edit window offers you a preview of pictures and backgrounds. Photographs etc are easily added to pages by double clicking the thumbnail of the image or the file name on the left.

A Recent Pages section shows the last 40 saved pages that can be be loaded back into the editor and adding new media such as photographs to the system is a mouse click away.

The control system also allows you to import photographs from the Internet so you could import images from photo sharing sites such as Flicker and display them on your electronic noticeboard screens.

The editing system supports both landscape and portrait style page editing.

Page Scheduler
Schedule pages for display any time now or in the future. You can schedule more than one page to be displayed at the same time. In that event, the system will display a carousel (slide show) of scheduled pages with each being shown for 15 seconds. With our multi zone players, you can schedule pages to appear on any of the zones.

Buttons to show all pages or recent pages are also available to make finding recent pages easier along with a file name pattern search filter.

Scrolling Ticker Messages
Allows you to add multiple scrolling 'ticker' messages to the noticeboard screens. Each ticker message is displayed one after the other and in alternate colours. You can also select which screen (display group) the ticker messages are to be displayed on, so you can display different ticker messages on different screens. The controller allows you to add, remove or edit your messages.

Media Manager - includes Internet photo import
The media manager section allows you to search for or list your different types of media on the system. It also gives you small previews of the media along with previews of pages and page templates and the ability to import photographs from the Internet such as photo sharing sites. A search facility is available so you can search for text within file names.

User Control / Admin
The web interface has a section that allows you to add users to the control system and define which display zones / groups they have access to. Access can be a single group, multiple groups or all groups. Only administrators get the admin link on the left and will be able to make any changes. The system supports emailing lost passwords to users via your mail server.

RSS Readers and Feeds
The system is able to decode and display multiple RSS feeds in your noticeboard pages. To display a feed on the noticeboard screens you create a template page in the editor and put in a couple of special text tags. These tags will then get replaced with the feed data as the feed is processed.

If a feed has say ten items, it will create ten different pages with each page showing the individual item within the feed. The system will then display these ten pages one after the other so you get a constant slide show on your screens of the latest news.

You can then configure the system to put different RSS feeds into different templates, and then allocate which display group you want the feed to be displayed in. You can also store RSS feed links in the database so you can call them up at a later date.

RSS Publishing
If you want to create your own RSS feeds, the system has an RSS publishing section. This allows you create RSS feeds and add as many items into each feed as you want. It also offers full editing of feed items along with feed or feed items deletion.

As the publishing system consists of two boxes to fill in, a Title and a Description this offers a very quick way of adding information to the system.
