Electronic Notice Board Software

To be able to use a web based digital signage control system, you need a web server to send the pages to your web browser and send the appropriate control signals to the electronic noticeboard screens.

Setting up a conventional web server is complicated and time consuming as it involves installing lots of scripts and directory configuration. Our web server takes all the hard work out of it as everything is built into a single exe file, which also makes upgrades a simple matter of swapping out the web sever exe file for a newer one.

More that just a web server
Unlike a conventional web server that just sends pages to your web browser our server keeps all your digital signage or electronic noticeboard screens updated by either updating them automatically through a shared directory or by allowing the noticeboards to update themselves over an http connection.

It can also download multiple RSS feeds every hour from the Internet and slot the RSS data into page templates (created with the page editor) so you can have the current news displayed on your noticeboard screens.

Additionally, it handles the room booking system and slots the booking information into page templates every minute allowing you to put small screens outside rooms that display what is happening in that room.

When you run the web server, you are presented with two boxes. One shows you the address (URL) that you point your web browsers to (any web browser on your network) for the control system and another shows you the web address that you need to put into the noticeboard player software (the application that shows the messages on the noticeboard screens) so that they can connect to the web server and update themselves.

A green button will start your browser that will connect to the server so you can test that it is working, although you would normally use the browser on another PC on your network. If you just want a single noticeboard screen system you can install the web server onto the same PC as our electronic noticeboard player software giving you a nice all in one solution. If you have a number of screens, the web server is available on our multi screen output NDD units such as the NDD10 for showing different informtion on ten screens.

The web server operates perfectly well on 1.6GHz Intel Atom based netbooks or nettops running all current versions of Windows from XP-Home upwards.
